Terms of Service

Last updated · June 2026

These are the friendly ground rules for working with me. Plain language, no corporate fog.

Who I am

I'm Paulina Malgorzata Ptak, a solo graphic designer working under my own name from the European Union. When this page says “I” or “me”, that's who I mean. When it says “you”, it means the person or business hiring me, or anyone visiting this website.

Quotes and agreements

Any quote I send is valid for 30 days. Once you accept it in writing, including by email, we have a working agreement on the scope, price and timeline described in that quote.

Payment terms

Payment is negotiated individually for every project based on its complexity, scope and timeline. There is no fixed deposit percentage, instead, we agree on the structure that fits the work before any invoice is issued.

Common arrangements include full payment upfront, a 50% start / 50% delivery split, or another schedule tailored to the brief. The exact terms for your project are written into the accepted quote.

Want to kickstart the project instantly? Paying the full amount upfront secures the earliest possible delivery slot and removes any administrative back-and-forth during production. This option is particularly useful for upcoming digital merch releases, where it lets me focus solely on creation without invoicing interruptions.

The goal is a partnership, not a rigid contract, you choose the payment model that suits you best from the options we discuss.

What you are buying

Everything I sell is a digital file, there are no physical goods, no shipping and no inventory. When you buy or commission a piece, you are buying a licence to use that file for the purpose we agreed on. You are not buying the copyright itself, which stays with me as the author.

Two licence tiers exist: a Personal Licence (default for shop downloads, non-commercial personal use only) and a Commercial Licence (default for custom commissions, included or available as an upgrade for shop items). The full terms of each live on the Licence & Acceptable Use page.

Once the relevant invoice is paid, your licence is permanent and worldwide. I keep the right to show the work in my own portfolio and on social media, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Editable source files (layered files, sprite project files) stay with me by default, if you would like them, just ask and I will quote for the upgrade.

Revisions and changes

Each project includes the number of revision rounds listed in the quote. Extra revisions are billed in 30-minute blocks at €40 each. I'll always warn you before the meter starts.

Cancellations

You can cancel a project at any time. Any deposit is non-refundable because it reserves my schedule, but I won't bill for work that hasn't been done. If I have to cancel from my side for reasons that aren't your fault, I'll refund the deposit in full.

Liability

I do this work with care, but I'm one person. I can't be held liable for indirect losses (lost profits, business interruptions) tied to the artwork. My maximum liability for any project is capped at the amount you've paid for it.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms now and then. The version that applies to your project is the one live on this page when you accepted the quote.

Questions about any of this? Write to ptak@inbox.eu and I'll answer personally, in plain English.
